PHILIP MICHAEL THOMAS – 70

Philip Michael Thomas was one of the most successful actors of the 70s and 80s. He mainly portrayed hard-hitting detectives that made him popular with the general public’s consensus. His most notable movie credit was his portrayal of Ricardo Tubbs in the hit series Miami Vice. He became of the most iconic characters in American television and noted that his aim is to get the elusive EGOT – Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony.

Some of his most recent projects involve lending his voice for probably one of the most iconic games in history, Lance Vance in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Vice City Stories. Michael is a multi-talented performer with a remarkable career in this industry. His life is run through love and imagination, where he overcomes circumstances no matter how big it is. He spent time now making autobiography, performing, writing music reading scripts, investments, and helping young performers achieve the same heights he achieved.

HARRY BELAFONTE – 92

Harry Belafonte is one of the iconic figures that made the Jamaican-American pop culture significant during the 50s and 60s. This degree of accomplishment was never heard of until the arrival of Belafonte.

In 2014, he was given the award of Hersholt Humanitarian from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. In 2018, we saw Harry Belafonte working alongside Spike Lee in the 2018 crime film BlacKkKlansman. Just like in real life, he played the role of a civil rights advocate in that movie. He is the first African American TV producer, and throughout his career, he contributes so much to various productions. Harry is a wise man and did investment planning for his future.

John Astin made a significant mark in Hollywood history after portraying one of the well-loved characters of all time, Gomez Addams of The Addams Family. She is considered by many to be one of the industry’s icons, beloved for her role as Thelma Lou on The Andy Griffith Show that aired during the 60s among other performances.

Betty does not only sing but also dance, where she entertained troops. She is a talented woman and a starlet that appeared in several films. Because of the fact that she was the breadwinner of her family, she wasn’t able to get married and thus, didn’t went through the services of a divorce lawyer, unlike some of her other Hollywood peers. At 93, she’s currently residing in an assisted-living facility in North Carolina.

TERRY KILBURN – 93

Unlike most of the child actors of Hollywood who grew up famous and ended up in bankruptcy, Terry Kilburn’s overall career can be summed up as nothing short of successful. He is interested in Hollywood even at a young age and spent his childhood imitating celebrities. Thanks to his solid money management skills, he took advantage of every opportunity that came across his paths and utilized it for his success. Very little is known about Terry Kilburn after his retirement from the entertainment scene, however.

Well, considering his long career that spans for more than six decades, we can safely say that he’s one of the most successful actors of his time. Besides being a successful actor, MacLeod is the Honorary Mayor of Pacific Palisades, California. This is one name many TV fanatics will certainly remember. After all, Pat Priest was one of the most famous actresses of the 60s, thanks to her part as Marilyn Munster in the hit sitcom The Munsters. She continued her acting career until the 80s and momentarily left the life of a star in order to live a more normal life away from the limelight, and the public eye. During her absence in the silver screen, she spent time handling home finance by buying and selling houses. While he was going to North Hollywood High School, he appeared in numerous movies and films. He told The Guardian that his retirement would be gradual. Barbara Mandrell used to dominate the airwaves from the 1970s to the 1980s. Joe Maphis discovered Barbara, and later on, he cast her in one of his shows in Las Vegas. She had been known for a lot of country hits back then and her own variety show on NBC, which helped cement her name as one of the country’s most successful female vocalists. Mandrell is now 71 and famously known as a country music singer, musician, and actress.

Many filmmakers credit her participation in their films as one of the reasons why it has garnered much praise—and earnings when it comes to tickets. Six of her films hold the top spot in the British Film Institute’s 100 Greatest British Films of the 20th Century. She was recognized by notable award for her great acting skills.

SOPHIA LOREN – 85

Sophia Loren just turned 85 but her appearance clearly states that she looks years behind what her age suggests. She’s also one of the last surviving stars from the famed era of Hollywood’s Golden Age. Her life brought an unexpected turn for the best when she was 14. At that age, Sophia Loren entered a beauty contest and became one of the finalists. Her legacy rose when she’s just in her adolescent years and performed in various modeling gigs. The horror film genre has its place in the history books of Hollywood greats. It also applied to Robert Englund’s career, which found his place in one of Hollywood’s most iconic characters, the serial killer Freddy Krueger of The Nightmare. He then received a Saturn Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor for A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors in 1987 and A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master in 1988. He also won a Fantafestival Award for The Mangler in 1995.

Throughout his career, he has been given credit for engaging in over 100 TV and film productions. That goes to show the kind of versatility he has, truly deserving of his spot in Hollywood and the recognition for being one of its greats. He is far from retirement, though, and his most recent projects will include another horror movie, Abruptio.  Also, he will cast in the horror film Fear Clinic and the English thriller The Last Showing.

LEE MERIWETHER – 84

Lee Meriwether started her career not as an actress but as the 1955 Miss America beauty pageant winner. She appeared on What’s My Line?, which John Charles Daly hosted, and was also the emcee of the said pageant that year. Following her win as Miss America, Lee joined the Today show. This former beauty queen then worked as the famous “Today Girl” on NBC’s The Today Show in the same year. Her film debut came soon afterward, playing the role of Linda Davis in 4D Man.

Her fame reached an all-time high during the 70s. She became known for her role as Betty Jones, Buddy Ebsen’s secretary and daughter-in-law in the 1970s crime drama Barnaby Jones. This role gained her two Golden Globe Award nominations in 1975 and 1976 and an Emmy Award nomination in 1977. She certainly lived a life away from any personal loan needs, thanks to the consistent flow of projects she received over the years.

MAGGIE SMITH – 85

Maggie Smith is one of the most enduring English actresses in the entertainment scene and she also deserves this credit because of the contributions she made in the industry for the past six decades. Showrunners later announced that Smith would be starring in the Netflix adaptation of the children’s book A Boy Called Christmas in 2021. She will also be starring in an Irish drama film, The Miracle Club, together with Kathy Bates and Laura Linney. She not only got an excellent mark on her professional career, but she also exhibited good traits when handling her family affairs. Cicely Tyson is mostly considered as one of the most influential African-American figures in television history. KYM KARATH – 61

Anthea Kimberly Karath, or professionally known as Kym Karath rose to stardom at a very young age. The most significant role that made her a household name came after she played the character of Gretel Von Trapp, the youngest of the children of The Sound of Music’s Von Trapp family. Karath has said she still is not fond of water after nearly drowning in the boat scene in The Sound of Music, as she could not swim. Before she decided to set off and pursue her education, she continued acting and, over the years, still appeared in television shows like Lassie in 1954, My Three Sons in 1960, Dr. Kildare in 1961, and The Brady Bunch in 1969.

Then she retired from the industry to concentrate more on her studies. Her choice proved to be the best for her in the long run. Not only she received her degree at the University of Southern California, but her absence in the spotlight also enabled her to have a good investment and build her own family.

HONOR BLACKMAN – 94

Some of her most significant movie credit includes Dr. Cathy Gale in 1962 television show The Avengers. She also appeared as Pussy Galore alongside Sean Connery in the 1964 film Goldfinger.

At the age of 43, he met an actor-writer-producer whose name is Martin Rabbett, with whom he began to have a long-term relationship. Since they are very private, they decided to move to Hawaii to avoid the Hollywood glare. By the time he reached 69, he finally “came out” with a tell-all biography entitled Shattered Love: A Memoir, in which he honestly discussed the pain of hiding his homosexuality just to protect his enduring matinée idol image. ROGER EWING – 77

Roger Ewing is a member of the famous TV Actor list. He is best known for his role as Thad Greenwood in more than thirty episodes of the popular Western series Gunsmoke. He might not be one of the most famous actors of his age but he certainly provided an impact in the world of acting during the ‘60s until the ‘70s. His first television appearance was the hit sitcom Bewitched and he appeared later in an episode for The Bing Crosby Show and The Baileys of Balboa. He also appeared with Frank Sinatra in the movie None but the Brave and with Clint Eastwood in an episode of CBS’s Rawhide.

Ewing’s acting career started to decline in the following years and he later put in some effort to learn all the basic techniques used by professional photographers. His investments paid off and he became a professional in the field of photography in the following years.

LIV ULLMANN – 81

With her contributions to the film industry, King Harald V of Norway gave her the title of Commander with Star of the Order of St. Olav to credit his efforts. Aside from this, Ullmann also got an honorary degree, Doctor of Philosophy, from the prestigious Norwegian University of Science and Technology.

BILLY DEE WILLIAMS – 82

William December Williams Jr. or professionally known as Billy Dee Williams, rose to stardom thanks to his role as Lando Calrissian in the hit film franchise Star Wars. He also brought to life the characteristics of the lawyer, Harvey Dent, and Two-Face during the 1989 movie Batman. In 1961, Williams recorded a jazz LP produced by Prestige Records. It was entitled Let’s Misbehave, on which he sang swing standards.

At the age of 82, Williams is still going at it and giving his best foot forward in the field of acting. He just recently appeared in the 2019 Star Wars film, Rise of Skywalker. This marks one of the longest intervals between characters portrayals of the same actor in the history of American film. With all these projects, he might surely have a good investment for his future. DAVID CROSBY – 78

He made a small movie credit in one of Clint Eastwood’s recent films, The Mule and we heard his voice as a narrator in a documentary entitled We, The Marines.

SAM J. JONES – 65

In 1975, Jones started becoming a model. He performed in the full-frontal nude under the alias “Andrew Cooper III” as the centerfold for a photo-spread in the June issue of Playgirl magazine. He also appeared in TV commercials for sporting local goods in Seattle before moving to Los Angeles in 1977.

Sam J. Jones was the man behind the character in his titular film Flash Gordon. He also starred in the short-lived action-adventure television series The Highwayman that aired in the late 80s. He also worked as a magazine cover during the 70s. His career as an actor started to slow down during the late 90s and started working as a security professional for executives. He knew that working as an actor can’t provide a stable income and he took the job just to ease the home finances of his family. Now that’s a move that allowed them to live far from the bankruptcy line.

HENRY WINKLER – 74

When he was a young child, he wanted to become an actor. His dream was granted when he got his first job as an extra on a game show in New York. Henry Winkler is one of the most talented personalities in Hollywood. Younger audiences might know him best as Angelina Jolie’s father, but Jon Voight is one of the most critically acclaimed actors in Hollywood. This is in terms of awards, nominations, and accolades he has received for his performances. Overall, he brought home an Academy Award and won four out of his eleven Golden Globe nominations. Now that’s creditworthy of becoming a legend in the entertainment scene.

In his early life, his political views aligned with American liberal views, and he supported President John F. Kennedy, describing his assassination as traumatizing to people at that time. His career started to slow down during the 80s but that didn’t stop him from receiving credit in the movie Runaway Train. He later made a strong comeback in Heat, while working alongside Robert De Niro and Al Pacino. In the 1990s, he made his first acting debut in television films. He began acting in 1991’s Chernobyl: The Final Warning, then followed by The Last of his Tribe in 1992. In 2020, he turned 82 years old, and he is still working as an actor.

KENNY ROGERS – 81

Rogers started his recording career in the late 1950s with the Houston-based group the Scholars. He also had acting roles in movies and television shows. He is co-founder of the restaurant chain Kenny Rogers Roasters, in partnership with the former CEO, John Y. Brown Jr. Kentucky Fried Chicken is widely known as KFC.

The music industry wouldn’t be complete without Kenny Rogers. He’s a famous singer, songwriter, record producer, who also appeared as a part-time actor. Throughout his music career, he charted over 120 singles across vast genres of music. He’s also responsible for selling over 100 million records worldwide which made him one of the best-selling artists in the world. Credit to his music, two of his albums became part of About.com’s 200 Most Influential Country Music Albums of All Time. That goes to show the extent of his investments in the industry. Even if after he retired, music remains relevant.

RITA MORENO – 88

When she was a young girl, she lent her voice to Spanish language versions of American films. Rita Moreno is a Puerto Rican actress who is in the entertainment industry for more than seven decades already. She first made a name for herself in the musical films The King and I and The West Side Story. She has been making various guest appearances on television series since the 1970s. She is one of the few artists to have won all four major annual American entertainment awards: an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar, and a Tony.  Through her efforts and hard work paid off as she has accumulated an estimated net worth of $25 million. TIM MATHESON – 73

The classic comedy film National Lampoon’s Animal House wouldn’t be the same with the excellent portrayal of Tim Matheson as Eric “Otter” Stratton. He also appeared as Vice-president John Hoynes in the NBC drama The West Wing. At the height of his career, he was able to earn various nominations.

At the age of 13, he’s already doing really well in terms of dealing with life in the limelight. Years may have passed but his fan base remains strong. Being a seasoned artist, his projects just keep pouring in. Currently 73 but he’s showing no signs of slowing down especially in his acting career. Many of his peers have retired upon reaching this age, but this is still far from happening when it comes to Matheson. Sure, he’s made plenty of investment money, but his love for the art keeps him going! His most recent role is in 2019’s Child’s Play.

BARBARA WALTERS – 91

He may not have a bunch of movie credits under his belt but we are sure it helped him in his life after working in Hollywood. Considering his caliber, even if he remains inactive, what he’s earned will keep him far from bankruptcy.

CAROL BURNETT – 87

Carol Burnett is one of the main movers of satire, parody, and slapstick style of comedy in recent Hollywood. Without a doubt, she is also considered a talented actress, singer, and writer by her peers. With more than 70 years of experience under her belt, people next in line will find her achievements hard to beat. Part of her greatest achievements is her works such as In Such Good Company: Eleven Years of Laughter, Mayhem, and Fun in the Sandbox. Being versatile when it comes to talent, she also knows writers and narrates memoirs. Not only is she successful, but it also shows that she’s highly passionate about her craft.

Her groundbreaking variety program The Carol Burnett Show was the first comedy-oriented show hosted by a woman. Probably, her pursuit of a degree in theater and musical comedy at UCLA helped her with her career. Recently, she was part of the cast of Toy Story 4 as Carol Burnett herself.

RICHARD KEITH – 70

The American actor and former child star Richard Keith first rose to fame for playing Little Ricky in the famous sitcoms I Love Lucy and The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour. Aside from his acting skills, he also showed exceptional talent in playing drums. Aside from his knack for acting, he’s doing very well when it comes to music, too. Who would have thought he’s already earning around $500 at the age of 3? Well, Keith’s talent when it comes to playing the drums did give him a hefty paycheck as he started going on tours, too.

After a few years, his acting career started to slow down and he decided to focus more on his music—eventually joining the rock band, David and the Giants. In 1990, he and his wife, Kathy Denton, began investments towards a ballet company. The corps has had successful local and international tours in the past couple of decades.

ALAIN DELON – 85

Alain Delon was one of Europe’s premier actors during the ‘60s. Even today, he remains iconic for fans of the Nouvelle Vague era. He also worked alongside the most famous directors in the entertainment industry including Luchino Visconti, Jean-Luc Godard, and Louis Malle.

Far from retiring, Delon also just recently launched a new single named Je n’aime que toi. Fans of the hit television series The Love Boat will instantly recognize the iconic bartender portrayed by the one and only Ted Lange. Aside from appearing as an actor, he also worked behind the scenes as a director and producer. Passing Through and For Love of Amy are just two movies for which he is given directorial credit. As if acting and directing isn’t enough, Lange seems to have pure talent when it comes to exploring the limelight. He also ventured into screenwriting, which gave him a head start in terms of project opportunities.

In 2006, he was one of the personalities in the reality show Celebrity Fit Club, where he lost a total of 28 pounds during the show’s run. Although he already turned 73 this January, by the looks of things, he’s not showing any signs of slowing down. Amazing how he still looks years younger than his current age.

DON MCLEAN – 75

Don Mclean is the man behind one of the most famous songs in American pop culture, his 1971 hit song American Pie. He is also the artist behind some of the most iconic songs in the music industry, such as Vincent, And I Love You So, and Wonderful Baby. In 2004, McLean was also inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Definitely a music icon, his songs are still big on the airwaves to date. The well-loved American Pie was also covered by another music legend, Madonna.

Over the years, the famous singer married twice and on both events, he hired a lawyer to process their separation. He’s also not showing any of going into retirement anytime soon. He still has a few tours lined up as of the recent, where he would start hitting the road once again by this year and the next, proving that age is just a number when it comes to Hollywood.

LORETTA LYNN – 88

After all, you cannot spend 6 decades in the industry and not create a legacy for yourself. She’s the voice behind the hit songs You Ain’t Woman Enough (To Take My Man) and Don’t Come Home A-Drinkin’ (With Lovin’ on Your Mind).

In the past couple of years, Lynn was plagued with various health issues. Good thing, he has good medical insurance coverage that helped her fast recovery. In 2018, she finally released her album after a substantial delay. She may have gone through some struggles, but she definitely was able to bounce back right away. She dominated 2020 as she managed to have performance and get better often. What’s pleasing to see is the fact that she managed to age very well, though she’s now in her late 80s.

ABBY DALTON – 88

Abby Dalton was made famous by her absolutely gorgeous smile and her genius comedic timing. She’s considered as one of the most versatile actresses of her time as well. She first gained recognition after starring in the sitcoms Hennesey and The Joey Bishop Show during the ‘60s and her role in the soap opera Falcon Crest during the ‘80s.

During the latter part of the 2000s, Dalton decided to move away from the limelight and focus more on her comfortable retirement plan. After all, she did a couple of smart investments that will help her live a cozy life after retiring from Hollywood. Staying out of the public’s eye did give her ample time to spend with her family and those close to her. She surely had a loving bond with her two kids, Kathleen Kinmont and Matthew Smith. At the age of 88, however, Dalton eventually passed. She left, but her works and would eventually live on.

QUINCY JONES – 87

Making rounds in the airwaves, Quincy Jones is considered to be one of the top personalities in the music industry with a record-breaking number of awards under his name. Aside from making music, he also managed to produce, arrange, and even compose hit-making records. After spending more than 60 years in the industry, he has accumulated around 80 Grammy Award nominations. We have to give him credit for that outstanding feat! While most knew him as a music legend, Jones seems to have made an effort in building his name. He also became a film and television producer at some point in his career.

His contributions were recognized by the industry and he was inducted in the 2013 class of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He also appeared recently in a documentary about his life called Quincy. These days, it’s his daughter who’s gaining her share of the spotlight. It’s in her genes, after all!

MICHAEL YORK – 78

Michael York’s career is considered by some as underrated. Considering the achievements he made and more than 70 movies under his belt, his name should go down in history as one of the best English actors that appeared on the international scene.

Over the course of his career, he earned two Emmy Award nominations for his role in ABC Afterschool Special: Are You My Mother? and The Lot. Back in 2013, he announced to his fans that his suffering from amyloidosis that forced him to retire from acting. LONI ANDERSON – 75

Loni Anderson rose to prominence when she played the role of Jennifer Marlow on the TV series WKRP in Cincinnati from 1978 to 1982. This role quickly earned her many accolades, like three Golden Globe awards and two Emmy Award nominations. However, in the mid-to-late ‘80s, her career gradually declined. They tried to revive her career by putting her alongside the Wonder Woman actress in the TV series, Partners in Crime. She also made several TV adaptations of classic Hollywood films. That is an amazing feat!
