JERRY MATHERS – 71

There are very few artists in Hollywood who started early in the field of acting. When we say early, we mean actors who started earning at an early age of three. Jerry at first worked as a model and made his way towards the mainstream scene in shows such as Leave it to Beaver that aired during the 1950s.

He retired early from show business to focus solely on his studies. He then attended Notre Dame High School in California. During his time in Notre Dame, he managed a musical band called Beaver and the Trappers. He then later pursued a degree in philosophy at the University of California, Berkeley, and worked as a loan officer, and initially be seen at times in TV commercials promoting his past shows on MeTV.  Mathers became the national spokesman for PhRMA and their Partnership for Prescription Assistance program in 2009. In 1996, he was diagnosed with Type-2 diabetes. With the advice of his doctor, he forced himself to transition into a healthy lifestyle.
