KYM KARATH – 61
Anthea Kimberly Karath, or professionally known as Kym Karath rose to stardom at a very young age. The most significant role that made her a household name came after she played the character of Gretel Von Trapp, the youngest of the children of The Sound of Music’s Von Trapp family. Karath has said she still is not fond of water after nearly drowning in the boat scene in The Sound of Music, as she could not swim. Before she decided to set off and pursue her education, she continued acting and, over the years, still appeared in television shows like Lassie in 1954, My Three Sons in 1960, Dr. Kildare in 1961, and The Brady Bunch in 1969.
Then she retired from the industry to concentrate more on her studies. Her choice proved to be the best for her in the long run. Not only she received her degree at the University of Southern California, but her absence in the spotlight also enabled her to have a good investment and build her own family.
