GENE HACKMAN | 92

Gene Hackman is one of the few actors that has a five-decade-long career in the entertainment industry. He was over 30 years old when he finally realized that he wanted to take a chance on acting. He then enrolled at The Pasadena Playhouse in California. Legend says that Hackman and friend Dustin Hoffman were nominated as “least likely to succeed” and got the lowest score. But he was very determined to prove them wrong and got various roles and finally began performing in several off-Broadway plays.

He brought home countless awards and recognitions from various award-giving bodies. Overall, he received two Academy Awards, four Golden Globes, and a pair of BAFTAs. Aside from working in the entertainment businesses, he also is an acclaimed novelist.  Currently, at 92, Gene Hackman shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. He made a small movie credit in one of Clint Eastwood’s recent films, The Mule and we heard his voice as a narrator in a documentary entitled We, The Marines.
